babemotion Privacy Policy

Updated: September 11, 2026 Effective: September 11, 2026
English

iLece Op Co., Limited (hereinafter referred to as “we”) values the protection of the personal information of you and your baby. This babemotion Privacy Policy applies to the babemotion App and related services. It explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information, and how you may exercise your related rights.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully before using the App, particularly the sections concerning baby information, health-monitoring information, location access, and microphone permission. We will obtain your consent as required by law and process information only to the extent necessary to provide the relevant services.

1. Information We Collect and Use

1.1 Basic Services and Device Connectivity

To identify the current App user, verify service permissions, connect to babemotion devices, and check for version updates, we process the user identifiers and authentication information generated by the App, device identifiers, mobile-device brand and model, operating system, App version, language settings, and network connection information. When you use online services, the relevant servers will receive your IP address and other information necessary for network communication.

These user identifiers are used to distinguish between App users. You are not required to provide your real name or mobile phone number.

1.2 Baby Profile and Health Monitoring

To create a baby profile, display monitoring results, and generate sleep records, we process information that you provide, such as the baby’s date of birth and nickname, as well as temperature, respiration, posture, body movement, sleep status, and related alert records collected by the device.

This information is stored locally on your mobile device. When online monitoring and data-processing services are provided, certain monitoring results may also be transmitted through our servers to users with whom you have shared access.

1.3 Family Sharing and Temporary Sharing

When you use family-sharing or temporary-sharing features, we relay relevant device identifiers, the baby’s date of birth, device status, monitoring results, and information required to maintain monitoring continuity through our servers, so that authorised recipients can view the relevant content. Our servers act only as a relay and do not retain this information.

Only provide sharing QR codes or links to people you trust. You may stop subsequent sharing through the relevant feature settings. Information already saved by a recipient will not be automatically deleted when you stop sharing.

1.4 Cry and Ambient-Sound Monitoring

When you enable cry monitoring and grant microphone permission, we collect sound data to identify crying and calculate ambient sound levels locally on your mobile device.

Original audio is not uploaded to our servers and is not retained as an audio recording. Depending on the remote features you use, cry-detection results, ambient sound levels, and similar information may be transmitted through our servers to display monitoring status and provide alerts.

1.5 Online Customer Support

When you use online customer support, we receive the content of your enquiries, relevant conversation records, user identifiers, and language settings. We use this information to provide automated or human responses, follow up on issues, and handle complaints.

1.6 Diagnostics and Service Maintenance

To identify and resolve App crashes, unresponsiveness, connection failures, and similar issues, we use diagnostic services to process App installation identifiers, device and system information, App version, operating status, and error records.

We do not use this information for targeted advertising.

2. How We Use Device Permissions

We request permissions or access to system capabilities according to the features you use:

  • Bluetooth and Nearby Devices: To discover and connect to babemotion devices and receive monitoring data.
  • Location: To support Bluetooth scanning on certain Android versions.
  • Camera: To scan device or family-sharing QR codes. Scanning images are processed locally and are not saved or uploaded.
  • Microphone: To identify crying and monitor ambient sound levels.
  • Notifications, vibration, display over other apps, and lock-screen alerts: To display monitoring status, abnormal-condition alerts, and customer-support messages.
  • Background operation, auto-start, and battery-optimisation settings: To maintain device connections, monitoring, and alerts when you require continuous monitoring.
  • App installation: When you choose to download an installation package for an update, the installation is completed by the operating system.

During QR-code scanning, the App also reads accelerometer information to adapt the orientation of the scanning view. This information is processed locally and is not used to record or track your movements.

You may manage the relevant permissions through the App or your mobile device’s system settings. Refusing or disabling a permission may make the corresponding feature unavailable, but it will not affect other features that do not rely on that permission.

3. Third-Party Services and Information Sharing

We use the following third-party services to provide relevant features:

  • Bugly: Used to diagnose crashes, unresponsiveness, and other errors. It processes App installation identifiers, device and system information, App version, and diagnostic records.
  • ML Kit: Used for QR-code recognition. QR-code images and recognition results are processed locally. The service collects device, App, installation-identifier, and performance-statistics information to maintain and improve its recognition services. For details, please refer to the ML Kit privacy information.

We engage service providers to process information only to the extent necessary to provide the relevant services, and we require them to fulfil confidentiality and security-protection obligations in accordance with applicable law. Where separate notice or separate consent is required by law, we will complete the applicable procedure.

We do not sell your personal information. Except where you actively share information, provide your consent, or where otherwise permitted or required by laws and regulations, we will not provide your personal information to other personal information processors or publicly disclose it.

4. Information Storage and Security

Your information is stored locally on your mobile device according to the requirements of the relevant features. We take reasonable measures, including encryption and access controls, to protect personal information.

If a personal information security incident occurs, we will take remedial measures and fulfil applicable notification and reporting obligations in accordance with the law.

If we discontinue the relevant services, we will notify you in a timely manner, stop collecting information, and delete or anonymise retained information as required by law.

5. Your Rights

You may use the features provided by the App to view and modify the baby’s profile, manage devices and sharing settings, or clear local App data. You may also disable relevant permissions through your mobile device’s system settings.

You have the right, in accordance with applicable law, to request access to, copies of, correction of, supplementation of, or deletion of your personal information; withdraw your consent; and request an explanation of our information-processing rules. If a request cannot be completed within the App, you may submit it using the contact details provided in this Privacy Policy.

If you clear the App’s local data or uninstall the App, all of your health data and device information stored locally will be deleted.

6. Protection of Minors’ Information

The App is primarily intended for use by parents and guardians of infants and young children. Please provide and manage a baby’s information only if you have lawful guardianship or have obtained authorisation from the baby’s guardian.

The personal information and health information of children under the age of 14 constitutes sensitive personal information. We process such information only to the extent necessary to provide baby monitoring, record-keeping, and the sharing services that you select. We will obtain the guardian’s consent and any separate consent required by law. If this information is leaked or used improperly, it may affect the baby’s privacy and personal information security. We therefore apply strict protective measures.

A guardian may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the baby’s information. If we discover that a child’s information has been collected without the guardian’s consent, we will promptly investigate and handle the matter in accordance with applicable law.

7. Updates to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy in response to changes in our services or applicable laws and regulations. If an update involves material changes to processing purposes, categories of information, methods of use, or your rights, we will notify you through an in-App notice or by other appropriate means. Where required by law, we will obtain your consent again.
